Dominic Broomfield-McHugh is Professor of Musicology at the University of Sheffield and a world-leading expert on musical theatre and film.
He is the author or editor of ten books and is also Visiting Professor of Film and Theatre Music at the historic Gresham College in London. The winner of an Emmy Award for the PBS documentary Meredith Willson: America’s Music Man, he is a deeply experienced advisor to film makers, performers and organisations all over the world.

Since 2014, Dominic has convened conferences on musical theatre and film that bring together academics, archivists and practitioners to debate cutting-edge research under focused themes. He has collaborated with the Great American Songbook Foundation and the Library of Congress to host the conference in the US and online, and has also hosted the conference in Sheffield in the UK.
