International Research:
International Audiences
My research activities have taken me all over the world, ranging from archival research at the Library of Congress to acting as advisor to a major production of My Fair Lady directed by Dame Julie Andrews at the Sydney Opera House.
I'm particularly committed to bringing my research to non-academic audiences, whether through appearing on BBC Breakfast News to talk about the 50th anniversary of The Sound of Music or joining Kevin Kline and Melissa Errico in an insight event at Lincoln Center.
Key to all my research activities is returning to primary sources to find the most direct routes to understanding some of the most enduring musicals and songwriters in Broadway history.

UK and World premieres
Through my work at the University of Sheffield and with Lost Musicals, I have overseen performances of the scores of long-neglected Broadway and Hollywood musicals, including world premieres of songs by Lerner and Loewe, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Irving Berlin and André Previn.
